Outreach

A lot of people gave me encouragement and positive feedback about my Newsguy articles and, later, for my Loose Cannon columns.  But the excerpts below are what really made me want to keep writing.  The first two are from emails and the third is from a bulletin board posting which had links to my Newsguy archives. The last entries are from other emails, added as they arrive:

"I am a new found Libertarian.  I could not put my finger on what a libertarian actually was, but I knew I liked what I had read and heard.  After reading your article Libertarianism for Dummies, it has all come together.  If you know of anyone that needs help in the Atlanta Metro area, have them contact me."

"I had never met an actual Libertarian in the flesh. I wasn't sure just what one was. It was a pleasure to find out that you are not as extinct as the ivory billed peckerwood. I was just as surprised to find out that my politic thinking was so parallel. I may have even nailed one or two of the platform planks."

"Just finished reading the other articles. I didn't realize I had any libertarian leanings but I guess I have quite a few, based upon these articles.  Good Job."

"Hello,

I enjoyed your Corporatocrats.  I am a high school economics teacher.  I was wondering if it is OK to make 35 copies to read in class?

Thank you,

"Hello Garry,

My classes spent about 40 minutes reading and discussing your article. These kids have had almost 12 years of being told how government improves their lives. We (freedom lovers) have been making inroads but still have a long way to go. A few kids told me that they were going to visit your website.

Thanks for letting me copy your article.

RH"

"You have provided the last excuse I have to quit the Republicans.

"Hey! I think you're making a libertarian convert of me... and ME, a liberal pacifist, too... Love the blog.  :-)  Keep writing!!" [Libertarian ScamBlogger Covertly Quizzes Bee Bureaucrat]
